Baby Spinach tops with Crispy Silverfish, a simple home cooked dish which my little one loves to eat.
Dried Silverfish is available at most Chinese Provision Shop and Chinese Medicine Hall.
I usually buy from a Wholesaler located at Bugis Albert Centre.
Soak dried silverfish in water, with a dash of salt for 5 minutes. This will makes the dried silverfish less salty and taste sweeter. If you intend to give your little one, you can soak for a few more minutes.
Rinse and drain dried silverfish in Buffalo Smart Air Fryer accessories, Baking Cage. If you are using other air fryer model, you may need to use a standard sieve to do so. Leave it for 10 minutes or longer.
Tips: Place a tray below to collect the dripping water.
Silverfish is now partial dry. Ready to load Baking Cage into Buffalo Smart Air Fryer.
*Optional: Add a few drops of oil before closing the Baking Cage. If you omit the oil, it will still be very crispy.
Select "Bake" and "Roll". I'm using the default setting, 180 degree, 20 minutes for 1/2 load. You may need to increase the cooking time if your Baking Cage is 3/4 full.
Tips: Do not overload the Baking Cage, else will result in uneven air frying.

After 20 minutes. Use a spoon as a lever to open to Baking Cage, use your thumb and index fingers to gently hold onto the lock. Caution as the Baking Cage is very hot!
Check if Silverfish is totally golden brown and crispy. You will be able to hear the "Crispy Sound". If not yet, you may want to air fry for a few more minutes.
Tips: Cooking time may vary, depending on the wetness of food and the amount of food you load. Lower temperature when it is brown but not crispy enough.

I poured all the air-fried silverfish onto the 10L Stainless Steel inner pot to speed up the cooling process.
Air-fried Crispy Silverfish can be store in air tight container for 1 to 2 months. It comes in handy as a toppings, a side dish or as a snack.
For mummies who want to make Silverfish Powder for babies, please use a food processor to blend it into "Baby Powder Smooth" texture. Can store in refrigerator for a few months. I use it as a substitute for salt.
