Buffalo Function Series Cookware Review

How can I ensure my home cooked food is safe for my little one? Nonstick cookware coating wear off easily no matter how careful I cook. The moment any sharp ingredients such as prawns, crabs or even chicken parts with bones come in contact with my nonstick cookware, it's the end. "How safe is my nonstick cookware when it wear off? The likelihood of consuming unknowing particles in our food may cause health hazards in the years to come. I have totally avoid using nonstick cookware whenever possible.

These shiny stainless steel cookware caught my attention. After viewing the cooking demonstration held at Song-Cho Kallang Leisure Park Showroom, I was tempted to try out. After 3 months of intensive using, my earnest review is ready!

My cooking experiences with Various Types of Cookware...
After having my own white kitchen, I started to cook diligently. I have tried almost all brands of pots and pans from nonstick Teflon and Ceramic coating to eventually the Stainless Steel. After my little one started solid at 7 months, I have been cooking 4 to 6 meals daily which consist of 7 to 9 dishes for my family. In a single year, I replaced 4 pans. Yes, 4 branded quality pans. "Feeling Heartache".

Switching from Coated Cookware to Stainless Steel Cookware...
I believe this is the agony which most mummies are experiencing. My previous 2 branded stainless steel cookware had utterly let me down. Both material turned brownish after each use, extremely difficult to wash, material is heavy but it doesn't conduct heat fast enough. Worse of all, I need to use a screw driver to tighten the handle almost every week. "Painful Experience".

My Review of Buffalo Function Series Cookware...
For the past 3 months, I have been using it intensively everyday in various cooking methods from steaming, stewing, poaching, stir-frying, pan-frying. I am 100% satisfied with Buffalo Function Series Cookware. I have a wonderful cooking experience with it!. It conducts heat rapidly and evenly without leaving any brown spot. Washing is effortless, it's very fast to clean and wash even when there is any burned food or stubborn stains, always looking shiny as new. "The best I ever had!"
Excellent for Steaming!
The lid is able to retain water vapour, preventing water droplets from getting onto the surface of my steam dishes. Previously, I need to till my lid slightly to allow water droplets to escape, now I can just cover the lid with no worries. The entire wok gets heated up rapidly producing lots of steam. It took a shorter time of 8 minutes to cook this Chawanmushi Steamed Egg, instead of 10 minutes as compare to my previous wok. Time Saving, Gas Saving!
Excellent for Stewing!
The entire wok of Wong Bok was cooked evenly, no more partial soft or partial hard. Even the chicken breast meat was soft and tender. It took a shorter time of 10 minutes to cook this Stew Wong Bok with Chicken, instead of 20 minutes as compare to my previous wok. It is able to retain heat longer, continues to stew for sometime after turning off the gas. Time Saving, Gas Saving!
Excellent for Stir-Fry!
Prefect for cooking all types of ingredients. I am using a stainless steel turner to cook. The Stainless Steel surface is extremely durable and scratch resistant. Now I can be 100% assured that there is no wear off particles in my food. Save money on replacement!
Cook to Perfection!
I love using Buffalo Function Series Pot to quick stir-fry vegetables. There is no need to add water, hence retaining more nutrients and moist, crunchy not raw. This is a better cooking method as compare to steaming the green vegetables which usually turn out to be overcooked and yellowish in color. Now my little one loves eating vegetables more than ever.
Great for Pan-Frying!
This is the tricky part whereby user need to learn how to gauge wok and oil temperature to prevent food from sticking to wok. Wok will become nonstick when both wok and oil get heat up. This semi poach Threadfin Fish Slice was cooked within minutes. I first sautéed onion and garlic, pan-fried fish, add a little water and sauce. Cover for 2 to 3 minutes. My fish slices were served beautifully. Nonstick properties was excellent!
Perfect for Scrambling!
Good for beginner to try out if you do not know how to gauge wok temperature yet. You can scramble all you want with stainless steel turner. No worries on wear off coating getting into the Scrambled Egg. A little harden egg stick onto the wok is normal. It can be easily wash off with a sponge. Soaking is not required unless you have burned food on it. Peace of mind!
Excellent for Less Smoke!
Usually when cooking spicy sambal dishes, the empowering smell will make me sneezed, kitchen get very smoky too. But not with Buffalo Function Series Wok. Quite surprising right? The hot chilli oil doesn't splatter much too, my face is dry and clean after cooking. Love it!

Cleaning is Effortless!
I cook a minimum of 4 dishes for dinner, including my little one's dishes. After finish cooking a dish, I will wash my wok immediately and continue to cook the next dish. The washing part is very fast, can be done within 1 to 2 minutes. Don't you find it amazing?

If your cookware is giving you a hard time in the kitchen, why not replace it today? Cooking should be healthy, fun and enjoyable. Don't be afraid to try cooking with Stainless Steel. It takes a little practice to achieve the nonstick properties. I am sure you can do it too!

  6. Don't waste your money on these pans. they work for a few weeks, but after that you'll be using more and more oil to keep food from sticking. Eventually even the oil won't help. One of the worst kitchen utensils I ever bought.
