Crispy Crab Stick CNY Recipe

When I was young, I love to eat Crab Stick. It tastes so yummy by itself, be it steam, soup or fried. However, after I have grown up, knowing that it is not a healthy food, I try to eat less frequent. Imitation crab meat usually do not contain real crab meat. It is a processed seafood made of white fish meat, egg white, binding ingredients, crab flavouring and a layer of red food colouring. In the recent years, Crispy Crab Stick has become a very popular snack during Chinese New Year Festive. This trigger my taste buds. I must try frying it someday after getting my Buffalo Smart Air Fryer! Here comes the "Someday"...
Here is my XXL Crispy Crab Stick Platter. After air frying so many packets of Crab Stick, I have mastered the skill of browning every pieces to perfection without getting any burnt. Here I'm sharing with you 2 methods of how you can do it using Buffalo Smart Air Fryer accessories using Baking Pan and 10L Stainless Steel Inner Pot.

Method 1: How to air fry Crab Stick with Baking Pan?
Suitable for 1 packet of Crab Stick.

Removed the outer plastic wrapper, unroll the layers, tear into strips. There is no need to air dry. Brush the Baking Pan with a thin layer of oil, place the crab stick on it, add a teaspoon of oil and mix well.
Load to Buffalo Smart Air Fryer, select "Bake", 180 degree for 20 minutes.
Midway open the cover 2 to 3 times, flip the crab stick to the other side. Use a tong to place those with lighter shade on top layer. Lower the temperature to 140 - 160 degree after it turns brown. Continue to air fry for another 5 to 10 minutes until you achieve the perfect shade with superior crispness.

Method 2: How to air fry Crab Stick with 10L Stainless Steel Inner Pot?
Suitable for 2 packets of Crab Stick.

Removed the outer plastic wrapper, unroll the layers, tear into strips. There is no need to air dry. Brush the 10L Stainless Steel Inner Pot with a thin layer of oil, place the crab stick on it, add 1 - 2 teaspoon of oil and mix well.
Load to Buffalo Smart Air Fryer, select "Roast", 200 degree for 20 minutes.
Midway open the cover 2 to 3 times to flip the crab stick to the other side. Use a tong to place those with lighter shade on top layer. Lower the temperature to 140 - 160 degree after it turns brown. Continue to air fry for another 10 to 15 minutes until you achieve the perfect shade with superior crispness.
Ready! The entire pot is evenly brown and crispy to perfection. Not a single piece is burnt. Looks simple enough? Remember patient and close monitoring is the key to getting it to perfection. You can view the progress through the clear windows, hence there is no need to open the lid too many times, preventing heat loss.
Let it cool down completely before storing in air tight container. Air Fried Crab Stick is crispy yet not oily. A healthier way of cooking this CNY snack. I swear the entire container will be gone in 3 days. Happy Air Frying! Happy Eating!
